Sun Seeker is one of our top filmmaking apps when scouting a location, making it a go to in pre-production. It lets us visualize the exact path of the sun. We can plan framing and figure out what lighting tools we may need.
Next is Cadrage, an awesome app that gives an accurate field of view for any sensor size and lens package. We can quickly review setups on set with the director and other department heads.
Then comes Shot Designer, another one of the apps for video production we turn to first letting us plan shots from an overhead perspective. We can drop in cameras, lighting, and even architecture and the app also creates a helpful shot list for scheduling.
We have one more bonus tool we really like, and that spot goes to Polycam which uses a phone’s LiDAR scanner to create accurate 3D models of a space.
